DIY: Burn an iso to disk on a Mac

I have been having my MacBook Pro for about a year now and I have burned several CDs and DVDs using the superdrive. However, every time, I have to look up how to do it. This may seem like a simple task for advanced Mac users, but oh well. Anyway, here’s how:

  1. Insert a blank disk. This can be a DVD or CD depending on the size of your iso.
  2. Find a .iso file (I can only assume that you acquired this legally).

This is what a .iso file looks like

  3. Open “Disk Utility.” (cmd+space, type “disk utility” and it should come up)

    Easy as pie

  4. Click File, and then “Open Disk Image.”Find your .iso file and click “open.”

    File >> Open Disk Image

    File >> Open Disk Image

  5. It will appear in the left-hand column. Click on the first one, and then click the “burn” button.

select the .iso and click burn

select the .iso and click burn

And that should be it!
