quick update of my life…

Hmmmm a real blog. I’ve been supser busy lately. And by super, I mean really really busy. On Sunday Tuesday and Thursday nights I’ve been averaging like 3 hours of sleep.
That’s because we have crap due on MWFs and I have to stay up late doing them. Oh well…it’s worth it – I’m really happy with my model (and so is my professor, I think).
Right now I should be studying for midterms – I have materials tomorrow and history on Friday. On top of that, I have my studio project (the visitors center) due on the 23rd. Hopefully things will smooth out by then – just in time for my birthday! 21! finally..I’ll be an adult.
On a different topic, I have decided to stay in baton rouge this summer and take summer classes. I will be getting an apartment with Josh (and maybe his brother) right off of LSU’s campus! I’m very excited :D
Ok, that’s all for now, let me get bAck to studying!

Birthday Wishes

I’m turning 21 pretty soon..yippee!! My 20th year of living has been alright, I suppose. I can’t really think of anything life-changing that has happened to me though. Well, I bought my new camera…I guess that’s pretty big.
But overall, this year has been pretty boring.

I guess the point of this entry is this: my mom asked me what I want for my birthday and I didn’t really know what to say. After a little thinking about what things are absent from my life (or what could use upgrading), I have compiled the following as my “birthday wishlist:”

  1. decent earbuds – like these or these
  2. Over-ear headphones – preferably these
  3. Replacement battery for my laptop (15″ macbook pro, ~1 year old) – the apple store
  4. Some new chucks (low tops) – (not the white ones – I found out the hard way that they get dirty pretty easily haha)
  5. a new lens (i already have 18-55mm, so something higher plz) – like this
  6. a better lens cleaning kit – like this
  7. a lens filter kit – like this (plus, it has a macro lens bundled in with it)
  8. a big 24″ monitor – like this, unless you can find a better deal
  9. a sturdy tripod (my cheapo one broke) – like this <– this looks cool

A lot of the items listed above are a stretch, but whatever. It’s a wishlist, not a list of demands. And as I’ve learned in my almost 21 years, you usually don’t get what you wish for.

So there you have it. From these item, you ought to be able to come up with SOME kind of gift ideas :)
And as always, cash (or checks) are always welcome lol

Cheers,
Jeremy

*edit* I will be adding more stuff to this list as I think of it, so check back frequently (lol)

Gettin back in the swing of things

I don’t know if any of my readers (if I have any, that is) know what my school life is like, but I will try explaining it here.

I am an architecture major at LSU School of Architecture. If anyone has heard anything about an architecture student, they have probably heard that we LIVE in studio. This isn’t entirely true, if you happen to be a beast at budgeting your time. A friend of mine has never had an all-nighter. However, most of us have a few of those a month. It’s not because we procrastinate (we do), but because the workload is incredibly heavy. Since this is MY blog, I guess I can complain about it here. Read more…

Two INCREDIBLE videos from Vimeo

If you have never had an interest in videography, maybe this post will change your mind. These are two examples of the INCREDIBLE talent displayed by Vimeo. Vimeo is very similar to Youtube, in the sense that you stream videos. However, the user base is very different. It caters to a smarter, artsier, more video-appreciating audience. It doesn’t have the obnoxious, retarded commenters that Youtube has. Anyway, here are the two videos:

project1eight – Don’t Judge, Invite! from Jeremy Bunner on Vimeo.

I found a video online that talked about not judging people based on what they looked like. I took this idea and turned it into a promotional video for project1eight, a campus ministry at LSU. I shot all of the video on campus with a Canon Rebel T1i (500D) and edited it in iMovie. The two songs played are Desolate Earth by UnderOath and Hero by Skillet.

erm..a quick note

I am in the process of finding a new theme, one that works better for photos (and still looks nice). With that being said, please excuse me if things overlap and/or look funky.

If you know of a good photoblog theme, feel free to leave the URL in a comment!

DIY: Burn an iso to disk on a Mac

I have been having my MacBook Pro for about a year now and I have burned several CDs and DVDs using the superdrive. However, every time, I have to look up how to do it. This may seem like a simple task for advanced Mac users, but oh well. Anyway, here’s how:

  1. Insert a blank disk. This can be a DVD or CD depending on the size of your iso.
  2. Find a .iso file (I can only assume that you acquired this legally).

This is what a .iso file looks like

  3. Open “Disk Utility.” (cmd+space, type “disk utility” and it should come up)

    Easy as pie

  4. Click File, and then “Open Disk Image.”Find your .iso file and click “open.”

    File >> Open Disk Image

    File >> Open Disk Image

  5. It will appear in the left-hand column. Click on the first one, and then click the “burn” button.

select the .iso and click burn

select the .iso and click burn

And that should be it!
